Artist Dylan Redford asked us for a grant to come to Miami for the first time and attempt all 315 of Trip Advisor's top Miami activities in 5 days, with 5 GoPros strapped to his body. After debating whether or not we should just rob him at the airport, he was commissioned to create My Trip to Miami.
This is the movie he made about his experience, now online as a Vimeo Staff Pick. Short of the Week has called it "as intellectually layered of a project that we’ve seen in some time."
"Redford along the way skewers freelance culture, the content production industry, cultural appropriation, and nothing less than the collective fantastical construct of Miami itself. It’s a self-consciously sloppy, diy piece, one that takes on farcical dimensions, yet is, in its small way, a masterpiece."
